いつもは、絵本を読んでいるのですが、
この冬は、放送大学のハイパー講義
ロマン主義講座
を使って、ワーズワースの詩を二ついたしました。
イギリス人による朗読もPCで聞けますし・・・
詩の講義からの抜粋も勉強できます。
生徒さんからは、英文より、日本語が難しかったとのお声が・・(汗；）
次には、I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud を読みます。
黄水仙の歌です。
魚は数えない英語の名詞ですが、雲は数えるんですね。
黄水仙の群落に心が躍るという単純な歌で・・・・大好きでした。
今も好きです。 生きていくのは雲のように偶然でひとりぼっち・・・ですって。
雲のように自由ならそれは・・・ひとりぼっちでしょうね。
雲のように生きたいと思っていたあの頃の
ままに、やはりすきな詩でした。
題は、たしか「黄水仙に捧げる歌」だったと・・
I WANDERED lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
